3D Transform Filter

Hi everyone,

Adobe removed the 3D Transform Filter from PSE beginning with version 8. I have always wondered about this -- would the 3D Transform filter work in PSE 8/9/10? Curiosity got the better of me and I went for it. I located the 8BF file in PSE7 and installed it in PSE10. Bingo! The 3D Transform filter works flawlessly. No more going back to PSE7 just to use this filter.

If you are interested in doing the same, here is the path for the 3D Transform filter.

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements x.x\Locales\en_US (or your locale)\Plug-Ins\Filters

NOTE: On a 64-bit OS, the path will be C:\Program Files (x86)\ . . .

Now I hope I can find PSE7 again.

I had to take a U-turn and redownload and re-install PSE7 again from Adobe.
In found the filter and it is sitting perfectly in PSE10. But.. do you have a link to a tutorial how to use this?

Ok Sepiana, you lost me. I still have PSE7 on my computer. I went into Program files (x86)>Adobe>PSE7>Plug-ins>Effects, and found the 8BF files. But I didn't see 3D Transform. Would it be under another name? Plus I seem to have 2 different file names for each one. Example: Veins-120 8bf & Veins-150 64bit.8bf. I have Windows 7 64 bit system.
I need a little more clarification on how to do this.
Thanks for any more help!

Mike,

Once you get to the Photoshop Elements x.x folder, you need to go into the Locales folder and then follow the path until you reach the Filters folder.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements x.x\Locales\en_US (or your locale)\Plug-Ins\Filters

Hi Judy,
I have CS2 and in that version the 3D filter does not come installed but is provided on an Extras CD. Do you have such a CD?
I found instructions on "My Janee" where to find it and how to install it. Cannot find "My Janee" now.

Well this link works: http://www.myjanee.com/tuts/3dtransform/3dtransform.htm
Maybe the PSE and CS is identical.

Thanks Sepiana, for finding this.
I think I will transfer the filter from my V 5 to V10.
I don't know if there is a difference between PSE and CS.
Probably safer to transfer from PSE to PSE maybe.
Probably also a good idea to copy the help file - not a lot there.
Marie
