Elements 10 - Collage

I like this collage effect, but cannot see how to arrange the overall image in Landscape orientation. Can anyone help please?

what about resizing the whole image and then "stretching" the frames to fit?

dpurple,

thanks, but it doesn't seem to work. Once into the collage, the frame cannot be changed, only the images of the collage. Once all set, the print can be rotated, but the inner images cannot be changed. Any other ideas would be appreciated

Post the image or...

tell us which collage you are speaking of. Most of the collages in the Create section can be changed by saving and then opening in the Editor and changing like you would any other file. Each of the frames is on it's own layer as well as the background so you should be able to do about anything you want to.

The collage I have set up in Elements 10, with 8 photographs, only offers two sizes. A square of 300mm x 300mm and a portrait shape of 210mm x 297 mm. There is no option to change that. I have completed the collage, saved it and then tried to change it to portrait by rotating, but once saved, you cannot alter the contents shapes.

That is all I can see....................... do you know of any other way to obtain a Landscape collage image in Elements 10? My photo gallery shows the collage I have done already.

Try this Malcom...

Open your new collage as usual. Let it populate the pictures as normal. Save the file as psd (default)
Close file(I'm not sure this is necessary)
Reopen file in Editor
Go to Image>Resize>Canvas Size
When dialog box opens, extend width to your new dimension (may also do height as well)
Click OK
File size will be changed and you can then resize and move around frames in the collage to suit your layout. (Just click on frame and handles will appear that you can use to change size, rotate) you can also change the style of frame by going to the Content Palette and choosing a different style.
Here is a quicky I did to demonstrate

Malcom...

You can also start with a blank file the size you want and then just add the frames from the Content Palette.

This is really so annoying! Why can't I start off with a landscape format to insert pictures for the collage. It would seem to be an oversight not to have included this as a basic layout choice rather than trying t manipulate matters after the event. Poor show by Adobe!

If you use landscape regularly...

Just set it up one time and do a Save As for all future needs.
