Hi Brian: Are you on a Mac? If so, go to File>Open, then select the jpeg file and in the dropdown that is labeled Format, select Camera Raw.

Brian: Alt-Ctrl-O (not Alt-Ctrl-zero) is the keyboard shortcut to bring up the Open As dialog. Make sure you are in the Editor and not the Organizer. Let us know if that works...

My method !
Select photo in Organiser: Export as New File to Desktop. Open photo selected in Organiser (in fact - any photo) in the Editor. Select "File" - "Open As" |

I'm not quite sure what you mean. You must first export the jpeg file from the Organizer onto the Desktop before you can use "Open As" Camera Raw in Editor? Otherwise "Open As" isn't an option?

Brian:
I have ver 9 windows 7, and you should have under the file menu (open As) Look again! Then the last folder you had pictures in that you opened will come up. Next go down to the types of files you want to open and pick camera raw, then click on the jpg you want to open and it will open in camera raw. Again if you do not have open as under the file menu, then maybe you need to reinstall from the original disks. Edited Brain, you are not trying to open the file from camera raw itself perhaps? You should be in the PSE Editor File menu.

You can just open the Editor with the photo you wish to open in RAW, but when you go to "Open As" you get a selection of files to "open as", you then have to sort through them and find the one you want. The file selection that will appear depends on what you were doing previously. With the file you want on the desk top you can clearly see the thumbnail of the one you want without having to hunt through others. To use a modern "buzz-word", it seems to me a more "intuitive" way of doing it
