what to do when image is to large

what the heck can I do when I'm trying to copy and past an image scanned into Photoshop Elements saved as a jpg and keep getting this message---Adobe Photoshop clip image is to big to export---I have saved it as an image 5" wide and 7" high in a portrait orientation. I'm trying to paste to a regular 8.5 X 11 sheet of paper in word or powerpoint. Can't you help me?

Hi,

Couple of questions...

What resolution have you saved the image at??

Have you tried using the Insert > Picture > From File command from within Word or Powerpoint?

Mike
