I am not using that one but I do have Microsoft Digital Plus and have been very happy with it but there is no way to burn the slide shows to DVD so I am looking for another option.

The Slide Show feature has the Ken Burns affect, narration and music but the format is still the old technology and although it does play in a DVD player to the television the quality is pretty bad.

(The Slide Show portion is available for free on the Microsoft site if you wanted to try it).

Thanks Mary, i guess i was just more curious about it than anything else. I already have great slideshow software for burning to DVD so that wasn't really important to me. The new XP Plus! version has something about a cd/dvd label creator and that was something i might have been interested in but just wondering how well it worked. The underwater screensaver is suppose to be to die for also. Certainly not something i'd pay for tho ...and i guess it adds newer wmv functionality to windows media player 10 which ( suppose to be way better than mp3) might also interest me. I'm just being curious is all. thanks again !

Technology is getting well --- so technical. I have been told not to put labels on my cd's or DVD's because the glue in the label can react with the layer where the data is stored. I always thought that the data was stored closer to the bottom of the disk but it turns out that the data layer is near the top and the laser reader sees from the bottom. Apparently the commercial form of labeling on software music etc is not the same and the Print Direct to CD's are ok so far.

The one feature of the Digital Plus program that I use a lot is the Analog to Digital feature. I am converting all my husband's audio tapes and yes even vinyl records to CD's. The sound is excellent and he thinks I am just wonderful!

Mary, wow that is great !...analogue to digital ! Yes my sister just bought a new pc and is now transfering all her analogue video to digital...so cool !

Actually I have heard it back and forth for the last 2 years about labels on discs. I'm not sure what to believe anymore. Perhaps upgrading to Epson's R series ( prints on discs ) may be a good idea. Not anytime soon tho. My current Epson is still running strong and wonderful !
