How do i fix this scanned logo?
This is driving me nuts.
http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?pi...BGmSvDXwKVowu0 I have this black logo on blue paper. (I scanned it.) Now I want to take out the blue. I tried the magic wand, then "cut" out the blue. Seemed good. But I got a blue haze around the letters. I took the paint bucket and filled the haze in with white. Closer, but I got example #2 with this blue line inside the edge of the letters. Next I tried "Threshold" and it all turned nicely black, usable enough, but it doesn't have nice sharp edges like I'd like. I can start complete over since I've saved all the pictures. What is recommended to do what I want to do: A nice sharp black logo on white or transparent background. Thanks!! (I actually have lots of logos in various designs and colors i want to make jpgs out of for use in a school fundraiser. It's taking me forever!) |

Kerri, is this what you need ?
http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?pi...5fNVReu23Z4jC1 It was a real quick process in Elements to just start from scratch. There was only one diamond shape to do ( I duplicated it to get all the others ) and one leaf to do ..use the eliptical marquee tool and set it for the overlap mode (the setting in the little top options boxes), fill with black, duplicated. Used Arial Black ( I stretched it out a bit for the larger letters). It was all very quick and alot less time consuming than trying to 'fix' the original. Hmmm<thinking> maybe you didn't want the clean lines....<hmmm> ops:

How do I fix this logo
Try selecting with the lasso or brush tool. Then select inverse. Delet the background.
Take the paint bucket and fill the part that's left. |

Thanks for the help you guys.
Wendy, that was my plan....just keep magic wanding....it just seemd to take for ever though. Jodi, that was my plan originally when I thought the only logo I had was on a paper bag, then when I found it on a receipt I just scanned it with all the others. I agree with starting from the beginning. It will end up nice and sharp that way. How hard can a triangle and a leaf be? (famous last words......) |
