Creating Hyperlinks in my collage

Hi all,

I created a collage (pieces of memorabilia, post-it notes etc. on a corkboard) Is there a way for me to upload this image to be the frontpage of a website and each paper or item pinned on the board be a hyperlink when clicked on?

Thank you,

Jones

Sure! This is called creating a map. You need a piece of software that'll help you design the map, but if things are square and of regular shape (everything at 90 degrees angle), you can create the map yourself.

Basically, such a software will open the image and with the mouse, you'll draw the area and tell the software where these areas link to. At the end, you'll get an HTML file containing the boundaries of the areas on your map with the link commands to link to your external pages.

You'll then, finally, need to integrate this to your website.

When you say "you can create the map yourself, does that mean I can do it in PSE?
The items in this collage happen to be motsly square, but they are tilted here and there.
Could you recommend some software to me for both scenarios?
Thank you Ray for your timely and informative response,

By the way, this forum really makes the entire PSE experience more enjoyable and attainable. So, thank you everyone.

You cannot do maps in PSE. PSE doesn't have this functionality.

Myself, I'm using Dreamweaver MX 2004 which makes maps directly in the editor.

If you check on www.download.com or www.versiontracker.com, and enter Image Map, I'm sure you'll find a tool for either Windows or Mac. Perhaps even a freeware
