Well that helps me -- since I'm still considering another lens other than the kit one provided with my Digital Rebel. At least I'm going to shop with a more informed concept. Thanks for the info.

Grant,
Thank you for the link. I'd like to get a memory card or three. I don't need more than 2 lenses.

I took time out from lens shopping to catch up on posts. Glad I did - but still may opt for at least one good IS lens for my Digital Rebel XT. With my shakes I'm having a bit of trouble getting really sharp shots without a tripod. Thanks for the link.

Grant,

Thanks for the link. Very imformative.
However, this does go against the "The boy with the most toys wins" philosophy of life.

I am not sure if Gary would like them but I would.

Now back to the topic at hand. "I am about to buy my last lens ...cough cough splutter!" he says straight faced. Yes even though I didn't need it I want it. The only reason I haven't got it now is that I am not sure if I really want it or ... some days I want a set of kick a$$ zoom lenses and other days I want a modest set of prime lenses. If I can't make up my mind I may end up with both. Soooo ... ladies and gentlemen please wrestle me to the ground and beat some sense into me.
