Recipe Book Background

At the last minute I've decided I'd like to do up a booklet of recipes for my daughters. It will contain my mom's (their grandmother's) old favorites which they love.

Can anyone help with where I can find a suitable background and cover page that is already designed, to make this quicker. Perhaps a style that suggests an earlier time period ?

I should probably post this in the scrapper's section as well. Thank you!

Pat ...

I don't know where you could get one already done but why not take a photograph (one that will mean something to your daughters ... say one of your Mother) make it sepia the put a white layer beneath it and reduce the opacity of the photograph until it only just shows.

All you need to do then is add text ... and it will make it much more personal for them.

Oh Wendy, I absolutely love that! That will make a beautiful cover!

I must be panicking and there goes the memory... I had thought of using her picture as a background and it totally went out of my head! However, I had not thought of the sepia look which will be beautiful! Thank you so much - Can't wait to get started.

Thanks so much for the site Mary - I'll have fun exploring that and getting results.

You guys are terrific!

This is a great idea, both the book itself and Wendy's idea for a cover. I have to stop reading the forum because I keep getting ideas about more Christmas project ideas, and I don't have time for the ones on my list now!

Great site Mary, Thanks! I also forwarded it to my 8 year old granddaughter who is just getting into scrapbooking - she'll love it!

Pat ...

Your original question has now started me off on doing the same thing ... I thought it would make a good addition to the family history to have a recipe book too

Well I have done the cover now all I need is to type out the recipes
