First timer....suggestions

Hi

I have never done any scrapbooking and thought I would try my hand for Christmas.

Can anyone recommend a site with basic, easy to learn templates? I would like to do a page or two for my nieces and nephew. I will probably have printed on some type of art board and framed.

The only thing I've done that even comes close is the Warhol project in the tutorials. I'm pleased with that but thought I would try something different.

Thanks

There are several sites listed in the helpful links section of this forum but one of my favorites is
http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com
you will have to register but it is free to register and in the free download section you will find lots of elements.

If you are near a bookstore there are two magazines out right now that will give you lots of free resources as well as tons of ideas. The first one is Simple Scrapbooking - Digital Scrapbooking 4 and the other is Scrapbook Answers - comes with a DVD of tutorials over 70 fonts etc. Both are approx $6 - an inexpensive way to get started.

Hi Cathy,

For lots of tutorials on scrapbooking, check out www.digitalscrapbookplace.com., under "The University" section.

Another favourite site of mine in addition to scrapbook-bytes.com. is www.threescrapateers.com.

Have fun!

Kathy

Wasn't Matt being in the process of publishing a scrapbooking DVD ? Check the store section on the home page of this website.

I agree with the above sbbytes.com and digitalscrapbookplace.com are great sites to learn how to do digital scrapbooking. Being self-taught, I found their tutorials quite helpful. They both have a lot of freebies to help you get started which includes everything from a kit to simple embellishments to add to your layouts. Besides this site, you can also download quite a few "free" kits from shabbyprincess.com and twopeasinabucket.com (where you will also find quotes and sayings to add to your layouts). Also look at the sites listed under the layouts if you purchase the Digital Scrapbook 4 magazine - they are helpful ways to find more sites because they are growing in leaps and bounds!
