Ribbons & bows

Wendy, thanks for the tutorials for ribbons and bows. However, I just can't seem to get the one on bows to work

http://www.tutorialized.com/tutorial...h-the-Bows/729

Either it says it "page cannot be displayed" or something or other "cannot be found".

I am particularly interested in bows (satin). Has anyone made them, and are they hard? Would it be easier to scan a real bow to use as a clip art?

Thanks,

Jessica

Hi Jessica ...

Oh what a pain ... I can't get it to work either

I'm sure that their must be another tutorial around but I can't find one ... if I do spot one I will let you know.

In the meantime I would try scanning one in

Hi Lloyd ...

Most tutorials on the web tend to be for Photoshop but usually there are workarounds ... in this case curves simply means curved lines.

He uses the pen tool to draw them but you can also use the lasso ... there is also a psd file that you can download

Thanks for fixing the bow tutorial link Mary... I would think this is a very helpful tutorial for lots of things-- Christmas, birthday, scrapbook. I will have to try this later when I have time today.... I may still try to scan in a real satin bow, though. Or I can try taking a picture, I don't know what is better scanning or taking a high-res picture.

Jessica ...

If the ribbon is satin them the scanner's light may well reflect back too much ... but its worth trying it

Hi Lloyd ...

One of the problems with Elements is not being able to draw curves ... still Elements does have a lot going for it

... glad you managed to use the lasso OK
