How do I use a landscape photo and print it in a portrait size?

I am so new to Photoshop Elements 5 and wondering whether someone can assist? All I want to do is use a landscape photo and print it in a portrait size. I have a frame size of 20 X 25 cm.

I think you are mixing orientation and size. Landscape and portrait are orientations i.e. landscape is wider than high e.g 6 wide x 4 high inches, 25 wide x 20 high cm and portrait is higher than wide e.g. 4 wide x 6 high inches, 20 wide x 25 high cm. Have you an image that is wider than it is high and you want to keep it wider than high i.e landscape but to fit your frame? If so look at the menu bar at the top and select Image > Resize > Image size and set your new size there.

You can make a landscape into portrait size but you will have to crop the phot0 to do it. open the photo select the crop tool and set the size you want to crop to. Drag the crop tool across the photo to make the selection . Adjust the selction for the correct content that you want and then crop. You will crop off some of the original photo.

rimmjenc:
If you want to print a horizontal photo vertically on the paper rather than changing its size go to File>Page Setup. Here you can change the direction your document will print.

If your document is 10" wide x 8" long then you can't print it upright on a 8 1/2" x 11" sheet. The 10" will print off the paper.
You will have to instruct your printer to print the long dimension 10" into the 11" dimension.
This is how you do it.
Hope I read you correctly.
