Full Blown Premiere Elements or Pro Training?
Can anyone tell me where I can get a complete course on Premiere Pro or elements? I have been in the Audio Visual field for many years, but am currently not working due to a two level disk replacement and fusion in my back. I am now interested in Video taping and editing weddings and so on, but need training on editing. I purchased Premiere Elements 1 (two mths before 2 was released - didn't no better) and like it so far...but will it provide the professional results that I would like to achieve for editing Weddings and so on? Thank you very much for any advice.

Hi,
Your question is a matter of opinion and how much you want to be able to do as far as effects etc on your projects. I personally would not use Premiere Elements for professional work, it is to limited on what it can do. If you are just doing basic projects such as editing video and adding transitions and some title work then you probably could use it. But for anything major I would use Pre Pro. You can do an internet serach for Pre Pro training, there's alot of it available out there ![]() As I said, it really depends on what you want to be able to do, and then it's a matter of opinion, perhaps others that read this forum can give you more insight with their experiences, as I haven't used Pre Elements for professional projects. |

Sony HDR FX1, Premiere Pro, Would You Buy?
I will definately look in to purchasing Pro. Do you have any recommendations as to where I can get the best price. I am also looking to purchase a Professional quality camera. I am considering the Sony HDR FX1. Can anyone give me there oppinion on this camera. Is there another camera you would recommend in the $3000.00 price range. Thank you all in advance.

Tami,
Being the complete novice to videography as I am, what could you possibly do in the pro version that you couldn't do in the elements? It seems like all you need is to splice scenes together with a little music and maybe some narration. I've never seen a video of a wedding before so I can't imagine what people are looking for. Not that I ever plan to video a wedding mind you, I'm kinda curious. |
