I am having the same problem.
I made a beautiful slideshow for my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary in PSE 4.0. I followed the procedure for getting it into Premiere. PSE 4.0 saves it as a wmv and then it is automatically sent to Premiere. A rendering process starts in Premiere, then an encoding process and it stops about 1/8 into that process..............no error message, nothing??? I'm sure most of you seasoned users would advise me to make my slideshow in Premiere but it is too complex for me and I don't have the time to devote to learning it right now. I'm comfortable with PSE 4.............unless of course there is an easy way to remake it in Premiere??? I am so frustrated. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

DVD Burning
Yes, I'ved burned quite a few DVD's of various types (audio, data, back-ups, etc.
The slideshow is 30 minutes in length, and has 16 audio tracks on it. Wendy |

Close the timeline window
I had a similar problem. When I closed the timeline window, the one where you can view all 16 tracks, etc. and then went through the process as normal, it worked.
It shouldn't have to be that way but give it a shot.

DVD Burning
Thanks for your info............I don't want to sound dumb but for the life of me I cannot find where to close the Timeline............Timeline being the bottom portion of the screen where you view your slideshow in slides.

Oh, you must be using 2.0?? Sorry, I didn't mention I was still in the dark ages with 1.0 where you have a standard "close this window" red X in the corner.
My understanding is 2.0 is setup differently so that all windows effect one another when resizing. See if there is a way to unlock those windows or use a legacy view so that you can close only the timeline. It's a shot in the dark but I'd be interested to know if it helps. GOOD LUCK! |

You first need to drag the Timeline to the very top of your screen. Grab it by the tab and drag to the very top of the screen and then let go. This will make the timeline a free floating window, with an X you can use to close it. To bring it back use the options in the Windows menu.
