Color Management question PSE2 to Neat Image

I have a RAW image from a Minolta A2 that I have edited in PSE2. I am saving it as a TIFF to open in Neat Image for some noise reduction and sharpening(I know this may not be standard workflow, but I have the demo of NI and I can't use it as a PSE plugin)

When I open it up in Neat Image, the color is way different. When saving the TIFF in PSE, I deselected ICC Profile: Dimage A2 under Save Options: Color but that didn't make a difference either way.

I also used the same workflow with some JPEG source files from another camera, and they looked exactly the same in both programs.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks....

Neat Image is not color managed. For what it's worth, the plug-in version isn't color managed either. My guess is that something in your workflow for A2 photos has embedded a profile and PSE isn't removing it, nor is it tagging the image differently. (Color manaagement isn't particularly clear in PSE.)

Neat Image shouldn't change the color upon processing. You might try duplicating a tiff and running one through NI and saving the result. Then compare it with the original by viewing each in PSE. BTW - NI is a great program for Minolta digicams. I was about ready to toss my 7i before discovering it...

Thanks Curt . I'm beginning to doubt if this issue has anything to do with Neat Image. I did some testing. I opened the file in PSE, saved 2 JPEG's, under save options/color profile selected Dimage A2 for one, and deselected it for the other file, and then opened them in Internet Explorer, and the color is still wrong. This was with PSE color management set to 'Full Color Management - for Printing'. I also saved the 2 JPEG's with color management set to 'None'

Here's something else to consider..... When i imported the image using the Dalibor convertor, i had 'Color Manage' option selected, because the color looked much closer to what I wanted than without it, although i still tweaked it some after the raw conversion.

Also, remember this problem didn't exist with the JPEG's from another camera that I brought into PSE an adjusted. the color looks just like they do in PSE in any app I open them in.

Comments? Thanks............
