canon blue sky color

I have a s-60 canon and shoot in raw . when I open the pic in pse 3 the sky is a lighter shade of purple then the canon nice blue. If I make a tiff
and sent it to pse 3 the blue is fine. Why is pse 3 not showing same blue.

I think I'm confused here (but it could me, I'm in need of my daily dose of cafeine!!)...

Where first do you open the image before importing it in PSE3? Your post indicates that you open the image in PSE3 and later open it again in PSE3.

Also, are you on Windows or Mac?

Thank you for responding. I download pics to zoombrowser. I have windoes xp. THe pics are fine on my monitor in zb. If I use pse3 editor and open the raw file I have a converter the color of fall trees and blue sky is off. ON my monitor if I look at jpeg pics the color matches canon.
If I use white bal dropper in conver ter Color still off . So I have been making tiff and sending to pse3 and pse3 has same color that way. I do
not think I should have to do this or will pse3 ever match canon RAW. thanks you for helping

The first thing to do is to calibrate your monitor. Look in the Control Pannel for an applet called Adobe Gamma. Run it, then try to import your picture again in PSE3. See if this fixes your problem.

PSE3 is a colour managed application whereas your other applications aren't. That could explain the difference between Zoombrowser and Photoshop Elements.

I did a quick test though and you're right, Imagebrowser displays images a little darker than PSE does.

But if I use EOS Viewer to convert from RAW to TIFF, then in both PSE and EOS Viewer, the image is identical.

I don't know why. I just know that Adobe doesn't have access to Canon's secret information about their RAW format, they need to reverse engineer things in order to open foreign RAW format. That could explain why PSE's sees pictures differently if they're in their RAW format.

Thank you for looking at this raw problem. When you print raw do you just do it form a tiff made from canon?
