3, 4 or Something Else

Hi,

What would you recommend if I'm interested in digital scrapbooking? I currently have PSE 3.0 and have considered upgrading to 4.0 but I don't know if it's worth it or if I'd be better off keeping the 3.0 and picking up scrapbooking software. I'm not too imaginative so I figured that maybe scrapbooking software would be the better option. Thanks!

I'd go for.. a book Seriously, PSE3 has all the tools you could possibly want to do Scrapbooking. I have one, but it uses PaintShop Pro (Creative Digital Scrapbooking). Though you can make everything with PSE that's in this book, it does require a little knowledge of where the tools are in PSE.

Others will most likely come up with more appropriate books on the subject.

I started digital scrapbooking with scrapbooking software, and I loved it. Now that I am more proficient with PSE and the dedicated scrapbooking software, I go back and forth. The different elements can be be copied from one program to another. And sometimes it's nice to have pre-made layouts.

There a many digital scrapbooking websites that with layout ideas. Out local library has several good books on scrapbooking, digitally and paper.

Thanks And A Question

Ray - Thanks for the input.

pjscraps - Which version of PSE do you have? I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to upgrade to PSE 4 or if I should just stick with PSE 3. Thanks for the reply and your time.

Hi there ...

Well PSE4 is not going to give you a whole lot more than you have in PSE3 ... so I too would suggest a book or DVD.

On the Home Page there is some info on Matt's new DVD for Scrapbooking that sounds good

niagara94,

PSE3 has so much to offer, and I still have so much to learn from it, that I have decided not to upgrade to 4.0 just yet. Renewing my subscription to this newsletter is high on my list for Santa, though.

By the way, have you checked out any of the digital scrapbooking websites? Many of them have tutorials, newsletters, and layout galleries.

niagara94,
have you tried an internet search for "digital scrapbooking" or "scrapbooking digitally"? That's how I find most of these websites. Here are some of my favorites:

http://scrappersguide.com (she has written tutorials for this newsletter)
http://www.cottagearts.net
http://www.scrapbook-bytes.com
http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com

Hope this is helpful
