timeline on added media
Hi, I just got Premiere elements and started a project. This first thing I did was import a VOB file from an old DVD so I could edit it. When I imported it, I got nothing on my timeline bar at the bottom. The movie is downloaded into the file but there is no timeline. I can play the movie in the monitor window and zip around with the monitor controls but see nothing on the timeline. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?

Your vob files will not be added to the Timeline automatically. You will need to add them manually. Select the vob you have imported into your Media panel then click and drag it down to your timeline. Should work like a champ.
