A PSE4 version for MAC with Album features
Soon? How soon, and can we get a preview of expected features so we can decide whether or not Adobe is interested in getting our business before we look elsewhere?
Three versions for Mac so far, and all stripped down versions. Would it be that difficult to make the Win and Mac versions directly comparable?

Brad ...
The Organiser is built on PSA which always was Windows only ... so I doubt that Adobe would ever go to the expense of totally rewriting it for Mac users ... especially when so few would actually use it. The Mac version of PSE3 was cheaper anyway but if you really want the Organiser then why not install PSE4 on Virtual PC ![]() Wendy

PSE 4 for Mac
Aside from the fact that one major reason I got a Mac was to get away from a Windows/VPC environment, I teach people on both Macs and Windows, so having different capabilities depending on platform is a dissapointing.
iPhoto is a nice ap for low volume users, but is inadequate for my purposes. Perhaps we'll see something more robust with iPhoto 6, but, as with Adobe, I'm not holding my breath. You seem to be saying that you don't believe Adobe will be incorporating any album-like organizer in PSE 4, so I'll just go ahead with iMedia or Media Pro. They have good Mac support and don't mind going to all the touble of developing and expense of providing software to non-Windows users. Apparently Apple saw the need for a pro organizer with the release of Aperture, but still no solution from Adobe or Apple for us middle-users. At $500, aperture is a little out of my reach, but seems like a great program for those who can afford it.

Brad ...
Not quite sure what you mean about iPhoto being for low volume users ... how many images do you want to store? Have you looked at iPhoto Buddy? ... that gives you an easy way to manage multiple libraries. I never really liked the idea of one hugh library so I tend to use iPhoto as you would photograph albums ... each year I start two new ones. One for holidays and the other General images ... plus I have albums for old photos, resoration work, challenges etc. It does make backing up lot easier than trying to back up one very large library ![]() http://www.nofences.net/iphotoBuddy/ Wendy

If you read on various forums, it would seem people liked the File Browser better than Album. So, I didn't feel left out, until PSE 4 Ray |

Brad ...
10,000 to 20,000 images per year is going to push any system that has only one library ... after a few years is would simply be so large. iPhoto Buddy and Multiple library would cope with that but having the whole thing searchable including off line media is another thing ... I haven't a clue on that one. PSE3 (Mac Version only) has the Photoshop CS filebrowser ... have you looked at the searching facility on that? ... and if they do bring our a new Mac version then it will be interesting to see what they do for a filebrowser.
