I will give it a try. How about you, Colin?

Did you notice that a registered user of 1.3 can invite friends to join for the full length of the beta?

Jeez, already stumbling! Which do I download - 32 bit or 64 bit? I've no idea what that means...

Julie....

It depends on your operating system. If you're using WinXP SP2 then just go for the 32bit version.

I've not had much time to play as I'm working away at the moment. I'll play some more in the hotel - but one thing that looks interesting is the Selective Adjustments. You can 'sort of' mask an area and apply develop settings to just that.

Matt has a good summary on his blog about the beta and also cites some learning resources.

Anyone can try the 2.0 beta for 30 days. If you are not a registered Lightroom user and want to try the beta for the full term (until August), send me a pm and I'll invite you...

If anyone tries it let me know if you can export photos to Shutterfly or other online printing sources.

Tried Lightroom BETA

Her's a quickie trying out the new Post-Crop "Vignetting" control. Everything seems to work great on my XP platform. Just a picture taken the other day with diffused flash in our bedroom of my daughters Picture.

Rob, I don't believe there's anything new in that regard in LR 2 Beta. However, here's a workaround from a forum on photo.net:

Lightroom - Exporting

Bob Kane, Apr 26, 2007; 04:05 p.m.

I am currently using Lightroom v 1.0. I would like to be able to export photos that have been worked on in Lightroom to Shutterfly. Please let me know if you know how to do this. Thanks.

- In the Library module, select which images you want to export.
- Choose the File->Export command
- Set the destination directory, file naming, format (JPEG, TIFF), bit depth and sRGB colorspace, set the sizing limits in H and V if you want them to be a certain dimension, and select whether to put a watermark and strip the EXIF data.
- Click the Export button.

Once it's done, you have a directory full of files that you upload to Shutterfly using their web tools.

Godfrey
