Lightroom 1.4 Update

There was a post of a 1.4 update to Lightroom. However, you should not install this if you've downloaded it already as it's seems to have a number of bugs.

Adobe have actually pulled this from their website and say a new version will be released very soon.

Darn...too late. Sure hope they get it squared away quickly... Going backward in versions is usually problematic.

Any descriptions of the bugs?

Hi Chuck....

You're up early this a.m.!!!!

This is what the LR team say - some other folks claim other problems.

Thanks for the heads up, Colin. I just skipped the update reminder again this morning, wondering whether it offered anything beyond new camera support and Mac support (which I don't need). Glad I waited!

Got a link from Matt's blogsite to adobe.com where the instructions for uninstalling 1.4 and installing 1.3.1 can be found. Surgery successful...although I created backup copies of my catalog and preset folders before I took the plunge. Thanks again for the heads-up, Colin!

p.s. One of the insidious effects of the update was that it can write an incorrect time stamp directly into the RAW file. I didn't think any program actually modified the RAW file; so much for that belief...
