Newbie trying to figure things out
Hi,
I got Premiere elements 1.0 a couple of months ago and am finally getting around to playing with it. Hey, is there anyway to import video without hooking up my video camera. For example, my friend has some video on a DVD from his trip to Venezuela and I would like to use parts of it in a movie I am making. How can I get it into premiere elements.? I was looking at some video capture devices on newegg.com. Do I need to get one of these devices so that I can plug a DVD player into it and then into my firewire connection? Is there no way to just pull it off the DVD if I stick it into my laptop? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

If you want to use files from a DVD, try this doc:
http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/331978.html I wouldn't try hooking your DVD player up via firewire because 99% of the time it won't work. The best thing to do in the end is to extract the files from the DVD (assuming you aren't breaking any laws and such) and then convert them to a DV-AVI file in something like Virtualdub. |
