Stage and Rehearsals

I am now shooting a Dress Rehearsal for a Community Theater Group.

Here are a couple of shots I did last Thursday Night at one of there regular rehearsals. Some of the stage, some candids and a couple posed. I would have liked to have posed more but they were way to busy.

Lightbulb Nice work

Hi Mark,

You always do such nice work. I like your example shots. Going down the road you might consider a few additional things. Get some medium length shots. The close ups are great and the wide angle ones too, but getting two or three actors interacting always makes for a great publicity pix. Actors are so easy to work with because they all know how to... well act.

Kick up the ISO on your wide angle shots and play around with the white balance. While this can be done in post-processing, it is easier if what is in the camera is a good as you can make it. If you are into it, shoot in RAW mode and do everything in post-processing.

Let us see the finished work.

Cheers,

Bob

Hey Bob,

Thanks for the kind words. I just came back from the dress rehearsal and now I am loading my new work into the puter to play with.

The close ups are difficult as to way to much action but I had tried that in this batch. I shot all of them in Raw including last Thursdays shoot as well. My ISO was 500 on Thursday and I did notice a slight noise in certain parts of the images so I went with everything at 400 today to see how they look. I will post them as I finish them coming in and I shot 118 as well today.

On a side note, I puchased an Extreme III 2gig SD Card yesterday from Staples and it was very fast in my shooting today. Nice card and it uploaded very fast using my existing USB SD Card Reader into my puter. I have to mention that as fast as I was shooting during these rehearsals even my old Vivitar 283 held up. I did Not have to wait for anything in my shoot, as fast as I wanted to be the equipment held up very nicely. I was very impressed with the speed of my Nikon and how it handled all of the downloading into the SD Mem Card.
