Photos to look like old postcards

As part of the filter gallery, I would like to have the capabilities to age photos to look like antique postcards of 50 years ago.

hi Dick ...

... and welcome to the forum

That would be a nice addition to the Filter Gallery but in the meantime (and as long as you have PSE3) then there is an action available for turning a photograph into an old photo. Its on the subscriber area ... then under Extras Volume 2 No 3 "Elements Extras"

Hope this helps ... and lets hope that in the next version Adobe add something like this into the Filter Gallery

Thank you

Wendy,
Thank you for your suggestion. I've tried this method and like it very much except the end result looks too good. I've tried several filter and adjustment layer combinations to age and degrade the picture to give it that 40's look but I'm still not satisfied.

Dick

Hi Dick ...

Here is a tutorials that may give you some more ideas:

and another thought is have a look on the Adobe Exchange I am sure that I have seen some "Coffee Stain" brushes on there. They may add to the realism.
