Vinyl record tutorial

Wendy
That is an awsome record. I can't seem to get the circles centered starting with the small one in the middle. Can you give me any tips?

Hi Bonnie ...

Glad that you like the tut

To line everything up in the centre ... try using the grid

Or ...

Create a new layer at the top of the layers palette. Then choose the move tool and click on the "Record Base" Layer ... you will see that the centre of it is marked with a small square.

Get the paint brush (small hard brush), go to your new blank layer and do one small dot on the page ... now you need to switch back and forth and move the dot until it is over the little square. It actually is a lot harder to describe than it is to do it

You do have to make sure that you don't put anything else on this layer as when you are finished you will discard it

Hope that helps ..

Wendy

Thanks Wendy, i so appreciate the time and effort you put into making these tutorials to share. You really make learning a pleasure instead of a hair pulling session.

If you hold Shift + Alt and drag your circle out it will draw from the centre. So if you use Wendy's grid or dot method place your cross hairs on the centre of the grid or on the centre dot you have created and using this key combination you should get a perfect centred circle every time.

Shift constrains the proportions to make the circle and alt makes the circle draw from the centre point.

Hope this makes sense.

Great tutorial Wendy.

Sue
