Talking at least figured out

Maybe the best "Black & White" converter that I have made.

Copy layer, rename it "Black & White".
Copy the layer "Black & White", rename it "Y".
Press Alt+Shift+Y so it become blendmode luminosity.

Select the layer named "Black & White", and press Ctrl+Shift+U so it become desaturated.
Select the front layer named "Y", and create an adjustment layer Hue/Sat, click ok.
Press Ctrl+G so it become grouped.

Double Click the Hue/Sat layer. In the upper left corner of that menu is a little dropdown menu named Edit.
Select a color from that menu, (e.g. Reds) and adjust the last slider named Lightness.

Each converted color can be adjusted both very exact and very much...
...snip...

Benny,
PS. After I used my new test file (see my Homepage), I think it would work better in sRGB mode, but I'm not sure...

Very cool

I had some really neat effects playing with the Y layer blend modes.

Yes. Very much control.

I tried Garys suggestion on this one. Softligt instead of Luminocity, stamp and 51% Overlay, but used the download version on my Homepage (had some more options such as brightness/contrast in F mode, etc...)
