Does Elements have a shortcut for creating a sepia? In Photoshop I had to: convert my file to a grayscale
then back to CYMK then adjust color & move sliders to what I felt was a good sepia Is there an easier way? |

Not a short cut as such but it's easy to do - and I'm assuming you're starting with a Colour Image.
1. Add a Hue/Saturation Layer. 2. In the pop up dialog, check the box called 'Colourise' 3. Move the Hue Slider to the left, which will get you into the Sepia region. 4. Play with the other sliders to get the effect you like. There are a number of Plug Ins that can also do this for you. Search for Virtual Photographer by OptikVerve. Colin

Hi There
Quote " Does Elements have a shortcut for creating a sepia? " YES Method 1: 1/ 1st open your picture 2/ duplicate layer , turn background layer off. 3/ go to effects & select photographic effects 4/ select sepia tones ... & simply drag or apply as normal ------------ Alt method 2 not really a shortcut. 1. open picture 2. goto enhance > " adjust colour " > hue & saturation 3. click on tick box bottom right , saying "colourize" 4. adjust hue and saturation , lightness to obtain a nice balance 5. try H360 S17 light +2 or H38 s19 light +1.. its upto you how vivid or weak you want the effect ... hope the info helps Paul Happy-snapper1970

Thanks for the replies...I have played around with both & have gotten the effect I was looking for. I was hoping that Elements had a shortcut like Digital Express' Wedding 7 Portrait has. There all you do is click a link & presto it's a sepia. It is a strong program in and of itself, but it lacks the more creative aspects of Photoshop or Elements.
