Importing PSE 6.0 Catalogs?

I cannot seem to find a way to get Lightroom (1.3) to open (or even recognize) my PSE 6.0 Catalog. . .

From what I've found on the web, it doesn't look good.

Has anyone found a way to do this?

This is odd because it looks like PSE 6.0 and Lightroom are now using the same underlying Database (SQLite).

I looked at Adobe's knowledgebase and found this link which explains the problem and a work around.

That's doesn't look a like a workaround to me - someone's having a laugh......

All they are telling you to do is start from scratch and build a new catalog. The "Export" is just piling all your images into one place so the subsequent import into LR is simpler.

Adobe needs to issue a patch for Lightroom so it can import the PSE6 catalog properly. But since the earlier versions of LR struggled with PSE5 catalogs, I wonder if they really care.

Sad.

Thanks for the post, unfortunately that won't work for me since PSE 6.0 has expired.

I'm already trudging along in LightRoom. My first batch of 640 photos is just about done. I've got the dates set, I can set the internal Exif Date via Lightroom's "Metadata | Edit Capture Time" then set the filetimes to match via the exiftool. This way here I can look at my photo files in explorer and see when they were originally taken (this batch has some photos from 1983).

What a great way to learn Lightroom (trial by fire). . .
