3.0 upgrade?

Why do they call PE 3.0 an upgrade? I installed the "3.0 upgrade" and I can use that version alone without 2.0. I figured that I could un-install 2.0 and 3.0 works just fine. Why call it an upgrade then?

Jared,

It is called it an upgrade because they offered a cheaper price for people who already had another version of PSE. Upgrade really refers to the price and not the package.

Watch it if you are windows user and you unistall PSE2 as it will also remove Adobe Gamma. You need that and to get that back you will need to re-install PSE3.

Great, so the v3.0 I downloaded from Adobe is a full version then? I was worried if I deleted 2.0, I'd have only pieces left.

Wendy,

First, thanks for all the good advice!

I am a Windows user, and installed PSE 3.0 and then later uninstalled 2.0....

From your post above, i see i have caused a problem. I tried to repair the PSE 3.0 installation, but it would only go so far and then asked for "Disk 1". Didn't have a clue what that was and the installation disk was not what the repair was looking for.

So i uninstalled PSE 3.0 and re-installed. That went ok.... am i fixed?

Hi Cyberguy,

I would think that it should be OK now ... but just do a check and make sure that you have Adobe Gamma
