Saving Tutorials
Long time lurker - first time poster!
I have learned lots just by reading a number of the posts and very informative replys. I have read Mary's post of 11-07-2007 on this same subject. However, I have XP and am wondering if there are any differences. In her directions she says:"go to thread tools (lower tool bar) - I either do not have thread tools or lower tool bar or cannot find it. any help would be greatly appreciated. arjay |

Hi Arjay,
Glad you came out of the shadows and are joining us. Here's where you find Thread Tools: Diana

Thank you Diana for your quick response. I did find Thread Tools where you indicated, however, I should have made my question more precise. I wish to copy some tutorials from the subscriber section in addition to those on the forum site. Thanks again.

Arjay,
Hi and welcome! In order to access and save the videos on the PET subscriber page you do need to be a subscriber. If you are, make sure you are logged in to the PET site and you should be able to follow the instructions in this thread. Have you already tried that approach and are having trouble? If so, I'd suggest posting in that thread because Jon, he forum's web programmer, does check it regularly as do other members who may be able to help. I hope I understood your question correctly! |

Thanks Julie. I have already downloaded the Videos but would like to be able to download some of the tutorials as well.

arjay,
There's no quick way to copy the written tutorials. I just copy and paste them to a folder on my HD. Bayla

Arjay,
This is Mary's instructions for copying Subscriber tutorials: http://www.elementsvillage.com/forum...20&postcount=1 It works the same with WinXP, IE7, which is what I use. It saves the tutorial page as an .MHT format, which can be saved to your hard drive and viewed in Internet Explorer, even when you are offline. Diana

Thanks for the reply. I have reviewed her instructions from an earlier post and I think I am beginning to figure out my problem. Where on my HD to I save the file and how do I access that file?

Diana,
I find that doing it Mary's way is not saving the pictures - I just get little red crosses when I open up the files....what am I doing wrong? Bayla

If you're not sure how to create a new folder, open My Documents, then Right Click on a blank space in that window and from the context menu, select New > Folder then type the name. Diana
