Newbee Also!

I've just purchased Photoshop Elements 6 and feel very overwhelmed. In addition, our 5-6 yr old computer has slowed down considerably since I added my photos and programs. We are now considering purchasing a new computer and a laptop. We have worked only with Windows. I need advice on whether it may be the time to move to a Mac. If you are working with a Mac can one move back and forth between the Mac and Windows with the photos. I ask because we are considering purchasing one Mac and one Windows but don't want to shoot myself in the foot. So if anyone has any advice on this issue I would really appreciate it. Thanks very much.

Hello and welcome to the forum. You'll find plenty of help here to get you going with PSE6. As for the issue of moving back and forth, you have to consider your software as well. PSE6 for example is not available for Mac. You will find a number of fans of each system here so you will get plenty of advice. I am a Windows user myself and am happy with it. Others would not even consider going back to Windows once they got a Mac.

Hi and welcome.

I am a Mac user and switched about 18 months ago. I had no problem downloading photos from my PC onto my Mac. I just used my back-up discs. My hubby has a PC and I use a memory stick to transfer his photos to mine with absolutely no problems.

Good luck with your decision process.

Hello and welcome to the forum...

You might want to consider purchasing more memory for your PC. I have an older desktop with 2GB of memory and for the most part have no problems running multiple programs.
