Backup should retain original directory/file structure
As far as I can tell, when you do a catalogue backup in PSE3 it takes your hierarchical set of folders and their contents and copies and renames every file into a flat structure. This makes the backup unusable by anything but PSE3. For this reason I only use the backup facility within PSE3 occassionally and use a standard backup utility (syncbak) to backup my file structure regularly. I need to be able to use my backup from a machine that doesn't have PSE installed and so I need the original hierarchy and file names retained.
Has this been fixed in 4? I would upgrade for this feature alone. |
