Canon Printing

Link to site about Canon's Chromalife100 printing system for inkjet printers. Canon claims that prints are fade resistant for 100 years archived and for up to 10 years in albums...

Canon ChromaLife100 system. Canon, however, cannot guarantee the longevity of prints; results may vary depending on printed image, drying time, display/storage conditions and environmental factors.

Well, I could beta test, because there are mornings when my body feels just that old... so it would be easy for me to see if a picture of me on ChromaLife paper looks like the real subject...

It is like the print speed of printers -- up to 12 ppm (but what they don't say is that it has to be in draft mode to get that through put). What good are pictures if we are going to keep them sealed away from all light and only peek at them quickly?

Well, if you store your pictures in albums, you're not going to look at them 24 hours per day.. So, ChromaLife will really last 100 years for that kind of storage.

I still think that the best way to store images is on your PC ... I can't remember the last time I printed one out

I've set up an old iMac (first gen) in the living room, connected to my other Mac, wirelessly. The iMac runs slideshows of my preferred pictures while we have guests.

That's another way of displaying picture and making sure they won't fade

Sorry to interrupt :-)

This entry makes absolutely no sense in the scheme of this thread, but it does seem entirely suitable for the subject: Canon Printing.

Hope to have something in the gallery soon.
