An early post as we're off for a long weekend - OK it's not solitary and it's not the whole tree but this old poplar is known locally as the haunted tree although it looks much more haunted in winter than at this time of the year. It's hollow and the local Pumkinfest committee has been thinking about fitting it up with speakers, playing some ghostly sounds and scaring the local kids around Halloween.

When we moved to town almost 19 years ago, the shoe tree was just starting out. It has 'grown' a lot in those 19 years. I did have to add a little enlargement on the side so that you could appreciate the full beauty of the shoe tree.

Kodak Z740
1/60 sec, f 2.8, ISO 140, focal length 6.3

This info means nothing to me, but I'm trying to learn. Took some pics on manual and they were awful. Way underexposed, but now I have numbers to look at and a starting point.

Here is mine. I found this pine seedling in front of the house. It's a lone baby tree probably planted by a squirel.

Well . . . I had about given up on getting a tree picture turned in, until I went to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta this morning and saw this one. Enjoy!
