Eyes & Glasses

Blue eyes seem to need less enhancement than brown, but I wanted to boost this one just a bit. I used Matt K's tutorial which is in the video section and also in V.4 #2. I only made one screen copy before painting in the iris.

The reflection on the glasses over the left eye was tough and the screen blend mode enhanced the reflection as well as eye color. I painted over the mask on two separate layers, one for the left and one for the right, and made different opacity settings. Then a bit of clone stamp work cleaned up the left eye as best I could.

The glasses magnified the eyes slightly different causing the left eye to appear larger. I considered selecting the right eye, flipping the copy and moving it over the left but concluded that the position in relation to the glasses frame killed that idea.

I'm happy with the final result. As always, any critical comments/suggestions are welcome.

Rusty

PS - tilting glasses doesn't work with little kids - Chris doesn't accept that concept

Rusty, I think it looks great! I always have such a hard time with eyeglass reflections. And I have quite a few family members who wear them! I usually just do the cloning thing and it takes so long for me to get it right. I'll have to try what you did though.

He is so cute and has such huge blue eyes!!
