While I am rounding up all the Threads and links for you to browse through, please post what version of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements that you have installed on the same computer.

I don't have PhotoShop Elements. I have Premiere Elements 3.0. I have PhotoShop CS2.

It makes it easier when you post if you would mention the version of Photoshop Elements and/or Premiere Elements that you have. I decided not to wait for your reply to my question about this, and give you my comments based on my Premiere Elements 2.0 (should be similar with 3.0).

If you just have Premiere Elements 2.0, you can EDIT your DVD menu (see Properties Panel) or you can download free DVD menus from various sites, example http://www.muvipix.com. If I am not mistaken, Steve Grisetti has two how tos video on this topic over at that web address (there is a fee for them, $5.00 each, I think).

Basically, for CREATING DVD menu you need specifically Photoshop Elements 4.0 and Premiere Elements 2.0 installed at the same time on your computer. That was a marketing perk of the combo. The old Photoshop CS used to be an alternative for creating DVD menus. Be aware of the important details of PAL versus NTSC when dealing with this menu in Premiere Elements 3.0. You will come across that consideration when you read through the contents of the links cited.

The following link is typical of the many such Threads that have popped up here frequently. Reading the links within this link should be of value.

I was just about to shutdown the computer, when I saw your reply after I entered mine.

Since you have Premiere Elements 3.0, pay special attention to the PAL DVD menu, even if you are using an NTSC system. It is in the links previously cited.

The CREATING of DVD menu depends on being able to establish "layer groups". As I said, I know Photoshop CS has been described for Creating DVD Menus. I do not recall seeing CS2 mentioned for the job even though you can create layer groups with it (do not know about creating those active buttons with it.)

To be continued.....I going to check out that detail.

I do not have Photoshop to try this (nor Photoshop Elements 4.0 to go with my Premiere Elements 2.0), but, until proven otherwise, I think that CS2 might do the job if you stick to the following guidelines for layer groups/buttons for Premiere Elements 3.0.

Here is some reading material related to creating DVD menu with Photoshop.

There are new articles by Steve Grisetti on editing DVD Templates at muvipix.com. Steve uses Photoshop CS and the articles are based on using Photoshop Elements but can be applied to CS as well. Steve is available for questions in the forum at http://www.muvipix.com or the Adobe User 2 User forum.

Good info on Premiere Elements 3.0 template creation

The link below turned it around for me. I was getting nowhere trying to adapt other Premiere Elements templates to the 3.0 version until I read this. Thanks ATR...
