My Granddaughter
This ia a photo of my granddaughter taken by her mom on graduation day.
She sent me the photo by e-mail so the resolution wasn't as high as I would have liked. Stupid me my batteries died that day and I didn't have a backup!  I followed the suggestions in Matt's book for lightening the eyes and teeth. Softened the skin, changed the skintone, then blurred the background from Dave's video's. Then I did some selective sharpening on the eyes and hair. Sharon

Sharon - you've created a lovely effect! Umm... I take it you don't approve of your granddaughter's eye-piercing?
 (I can hardly wait to see what my own 2 granddaughters choose for themselves when they reach that age).  Tricia

Sharon great job. I have a feeling you'll be getting a high resolution copy of the original to fix up!! One small thing though is that I would remove that shadow on her forehead cast by her friend. (PS, I would have removed the eyebrow ring too!)

Pauline,
Thank you for the suggestion to remove the shadow. I noticed it was darker there, but it didn't make the connection as to why. Duh! Does this look better? Is it enough, or too much? Thanks to all, Sharon
