Pen Tool Please!!!

I reeeeaaally need the pen tool! I need the clean (rastorised) lines you get from the pen tool in the full PS. I need it , I need it , I need it!! I'll do anything to get it.
Help me. The stock photography monters won't accept anything that's been isolated with any of the tools in Elements 3.0.
Pleeeeeeeeeeeease

I guess we should never say never, but the Pen tool is one of the big reasons that people buy CS, so I would be surprised to see it in a version of Elements.

It's one of those "I wish I'd know then what I know now" things then!
I wish I'd known before I'd bought Elements, I would have saved my money for the "proper" version. I just can't compete with "the big boys" with Elements, no matter what my photography skills are. Designers demande clipping paths & isolated subjects & I just can't do that with Elements, no matter what version

Brice ...

There are two types of selections Raster and Vector.

Raster selects pixels ... like the lasso does
and Vector is mathematical, it gives a much cleaner shape and is fully scaleable without losing its definition ... the custom shape tool is Vector based.

The Pen tool is a pen that you can use to make Vector selections ... here is a link to a tutorial on using it:

Thanks Wendy. Were you a user of PS at one time? You seem to have such a keen grasp of the full program.

Hi Brice ...

I do a little restoration work for a photographer so I get to use the full version that way

A way round the missing pen tool

Hi there those of you wishing you had the pen tool, here's a solution which you might find worthwhile.

You can download the portable version of GIMP. It has a pen tool so you can use it and save your file as a PSD and open it in Elements to continue past that point.

Hope this helps.

Wavy
