Removing people

I had a friend of mine bring in a photo of her daughter in her ball gown and she wanted people removed from it. I did up two versions for her and she was wrapt.

For obvious reasons, I have blurred the young lady's face. The first time I copied the left side to the right side of the image. The second time I created a completely new background with Filter>Render>Clouds and put a spotlight from the top right corner and a drop shadow on the left side of the young lady.

Great job! Now please explain why did you blur the face? Is she famous... I guess I'm stupid I just don't understand. Are we not supposed to put faces on here? Please explain so I understand.

Hi Karen;

Nice little trick with the side to side swap. In this image it is the perfect
answer. I like it ... Tom

Good question I think Karen was just respecting the privacy of the girl. Actually, I think you are supposed to have a release from the person before publishing an identifyable image. We're pretty lax about it here, but I'm especially careful when it's a child or young person.

I think it is up to the person posting the image weather to blur out a face or not. Just a matter of personal choice I would say.

No, you are not stupid. I did it to protect the young Lady's privacy and I did promise her Mum - and you can't break promises to Mum.
