canon g6 powershot digital camera 30sec avi

Can I use the 30sec movie clips from my Canon G6 digital camera and use add media to create a slide show plus these short clips.

I have tried adding them but they don't run smoothly and seem to run slightly faster than on the camera?

Any advice please

Keith

Keith,

Video from digital still cameras, is not supported in PRE

One type of a work around for you *might* be to try this...

If you have quicktime, open the footage in is format that it came in with, and see if you can export it as a quicktime movie.
Let me know if you can do that and if it doesn't work then I can try and figure out something else

If you can export as QT movie then you can bring that into PRE.

clip is an avi clip

In the dummies book there is a list of import media, page 103.

avi is one of the formats supported by premiere.
I have since rendered the clips and found that they run better.

Frame rate: 10
Pixel ratio: 1.0
Image size:640 480
File Type: .avi

I'm not trying to contradict you, these are my observations.

Awesome!

I'm glad you got it to work for you.

Most digital cameras don't capture their video clips in avi format, most are motion jpeg,(at least all the ones I could get my hands on) I'll let my source of that info know that it doesn't support *most* digital camera footage

Thanks for the info. Too bad my camera is motion jpeg
