Zoom function in the Wacom Intuos 3

Just discoved this by accident. I was having problems getting the zoom function to work correctly on the touch strip(Wacom Intuos 3). It works fine with Photoshop 7, but would just scroll with Elements 3. I tried changing to zoom only in the Wacom's properties. This had no effect. Out of frustration, I held down my Alt tablet key....that did the trick.
