I know it's something easy!!!
I am trying to create pages with backgrounds, pictures and clip art . I can do the pics on the backgrounds. I can even get the clip art transparent... but I can't drag/move the clip art to the page. What am I missing? I'm really new at this!!!

Hi there ...
You need to have both the images open on the desktop before you can drag and drop on to the other ... but I have to admit that I find it easier to do it this way: Open the image you want to move Then do Select>All and Edit>Copy Open the image you want to move it to Then do Edit>Paste Do let us know how you go on ![]() Wendy

Wendy,
The short time I've been here you seem so helpful and nice! Thanks for the quick response. I tried your method and it worked!!!! I don't know why the drag and drop wouldn't work! Thanks again! |

hi there ...
... and thank you ![]() So glad that it worked. Windows users seem to have a little more problem than Mac users with the drag and drop ... but I think I saw somewhere that you need both images open in the workspace. Hopefully a windows user will be able to sort you out ... but in the meantime at least you are able to do it the long way round. There are shortcuts for some of the instructions I gave you. Select>All ... is Control A Edit>Copy .... is Control C Edit>Paste .... is Control V Wendy

Good Morning!
One other thing that someone helped me with when I first started PSE3 - You can drag from the work area DOWN to pictures in the photo bin. It won't work dragging UP from the photo bin. So what I have found is a good flow for me: Make sure you can see the Destination picture in the photo bin - note dpi of this photo. Open pictures that you want to merge to your destination picture - make sure the dpi of these pictures matches dpi of destination picture. Drag these pictures from your work area down to destination picture. Along with copy and paste it is an extra tool that has worked for me.

Thanks guys. That was my next question... about dpi. It has to match for all items doesn't it? I'm wanting to make a birthday invitation and have it printed. Thanks again for the help. I'll try dragging it down to the photo bin and see if that works as well.

It is better if it matches but sometimes you just can't do it and you have to resize an image to get it to look right ... it usually works providing you don't have to resize it too much.
Best thing to do when you get into that situation is just to try it and see how it turns out ![]() Wendy
