Looks great Janice! The colors work very well together.

Thanks Jane.
The best thing about Elements is the ability to pick colors from your photo to use on other parts of your project. Got so excited about the ripped paper technique that I forgot to decorate the background paper - plain is boring to me. And I really got carried about with the edging. LOL I wish I knew how to make the ripped edge look more realistic, but I'll get there. Next thing I want to work on is learning how to do a folded corner.

Janice-may I suggest that you hold back on the blurring and lessen the drop shadow on the ripped edge? I think it will look more torn with a harder edge.

I think you are right on. I got carried away with the blurring. Then I couldn't stop and blurred the whole page. LOL
I am going to attempt another try. I want to make it actually look like torn paper - not a softened edge of color. Thanks for the tip.

trying to make paper
I can't get the torn edge to look right - what tool would you recommend
first for cutting the edge then for softening the edge then for shadow Or is there a better way to accomplish this. I haven't downloaded any tutorials because I can't get QuickTime to work and for some reason Adobe reader decided it hated me, too.
