Hi George ...

... and welcome to the forum.

Open your image then do File>Save for Web
When the Save for Web dialogue box come up there is a section over on the bottom right hand side where you can change the pixels size (see A) if you tick Constrain Proportions then you only need to change the longest side. Next take a look at the new size (B) ... if it is still too big then use the quality slider (C) until the size is OK

Hope this helps

Hi George,
Here's my shortcut suggestion: Open your image in PSE, then save it under a new name. I usually do something like this: Beach for gallery

That way, you retain your original at it's original size and you're only resizing a copy.

Then go to to Image > Resize> Image Size

First, set the resolution to 72

Then, in the Pixel Dimensions box at the top, type in a number between 500 and 700 in either the width or height field (depending upon whether your image is landscape or portrait mode)

Save as a jpeg and you're done...

[This is a good rule of thumb when emailing photos or posting to Pixentral as well...]

hi there ...

If you do it the way I suggested then you don't need to worry about which type of jpg to choose as the quality slider does it for you.
