Adding video from a digital camera
I'm new to this forum and premiere elements. I am attempting my first slide show in PE. I want to begin the show with a short 15 second video taken from a digital camera. Then add photos from the same family event. I believe the video extention is wmv. I can import the audio fine but the video seems to start on super fast speed lasting perhaps 2 seconds then goes to blurr while the audio runs the full 15 seconds. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
How are you getting the video into PRE? Is this a video camera or from a regular digital camera? The more details you can get me the better

I took the video with a digital camera. When I downloaded from my SD card into the computer, it came over with the rest of the photos on the card. The video (and audoi) play fine in Windows Media Player.
I got it into PRE (as I recall) by "find media" and opening it. It automatically installed. I placed it on the time line and previewed it. At that point the audio sounds normal but the video seemed to fast forward to the end very quickly. Thanks for your help. |

Hrm,
Ok let me do a bit of research on that as I haven't ever used any digital media from camera in PRE, I'll do some poking around and see what I can find out

Donc,
what kind of file is your video? MOV, MPG-1, MPG-2, AVI or WMV? If MPG-1 or 2, you may want to check this out: http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/w....101@.3bb684cc or since this is your first time doing PrE, you might want to check the drivers for your computer's video card. See this thread: http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/w....113@.3bb6984d I hope this helps. Danielle

Originally it was a wmv. Over the weekend I "saved as" am MPG2? from Windows Media Player.
I did get more "frames" visable when I previewed however still missing most of the video while audio is fine. |

Donc,
Sorry for the delay in replying to you but I had to do some digging. Video from digital still cameras, is not supported in PRE ![]() One type of a work around for you *might* be to try this... If you have quicktime, open the footage in is format that it came in with, and see if you can export it as a quicktime movie. Let me know if you can do that and if it doesn't work then I can try and figure out something else ![]() If you can export as QT movie then you can bring that into PRE. Good Luck!! |
