Editing Video's

Hi there. I'm really new to this. What I've had done is, a company copied a VHS tape to DVD for me of my wedding. 21 years ago mind you. It came out quite dark and I was wondering is, does Adobe have any products that could brighten my video like Photoshop Elements 3.01 can with pictures? Any help would really be appreciated.

Thanks so much.

Hi,

I haven't tried it yet but I know Premiere Elements is supposed to be able to brighten dark photos. There's a Shadow/Highlights command somewhere...

Anyway, Tami-the Premiere Diva should have a more definitive answer for you.

Danielle Wins!

There are several ways to do it

Go into the effects tab -> video effects ->adjust.

In that folder are several ways to adjust your footage.

You can use the shadow/highlight or brightness/contrast.

OR
you can go into effects->video effects->image control-> Gamma Corrrection

That should give you enough options to play with to see whoat you like best

Oooh goodie! I'll take door #3, Tami!

Glad to help out.

I did a quick DVD of a high school talent show (highlights, etc.) and my neighbor loved it. Menus and all. So I'm looking forward to really learning Premiere Elements but it has had to take a backseat to Photoshop Elements.

Thanks Tami

I really appreciate all the information you gave me on my question. I don't own a video camera, nor do I want to. I have Photoshop Elements 3.0 and love it. I'll have to download the trial version of Premier Elements and do what you've suggested. Thanks so much.

Neither do I - maybe someday - but my little digital camera takes great vids as it is.
