shortcuts bar no longer has undo and redo arrows

I just upgraded from 4.0 to 5.0. I went to undo a change I made to a photo and the arrows (undo and redo) are no longer in the shortcuts bar. Does anyone know if I can customize the shortcuts bar or tool bar to add these buttons?

Nope, not that I know of.

Several people have complained here about this change. Here's a thread that explains why Adobe did it.

Hi ...

... and welcome to the forum

This is a change that a lot of people don't like ... makes you wonder if Adobe will bring them back in the next version ..

I just downloaded the trial and this was one of the first things I noticed - I used this feature all the time. Unless there are some other compelling reasons to switch from 4 to 5, this could be one of the deal breakers for me.

Hi Tom ...

I actually have never used these buttons at all ... I have always just kept the History pallette open and used that

Hi Wendy, The only problem with the history pallette is you can undo, but not redo. Those two shortcuts are indispencible to me. Actually I had time to look at version 5 tonight and can't see any compelling reason to upgrade from version 4. Thanks, Tom

Not true. The history pallette lets you undo and redo one or more steps at a time.

I also never use the undo/redo buttons. I like to be able to know what I'm undoing so I keep the undo history palette locked onto the right hand side along with the layers palette & styles palette. And you can redo, just click back on the item you want to redo & it puts it back in.

I also use Ctrl-Z for a quick undo of the last thing I've done.

Sorry, I missed how that worked and just tried it again - I feel better now about that missing feature and will have to re-evaluate the new version. Thank you, Tom

Tom ...

I'm sure that once you get used to using the history palette you will find is much easier ... I know that I do
