Question One Click Wow buttons in PSE5?

I tried installing my wow buttons into pse5 and had success with everything except the layer styles. Why are they not showing up. I NEED those buttons!

Am i doing somthing wrong?

Hi

Welcome to the forums.

Where are you trying to install them?

The PE5 section of the forum just opened a day or so ago. There were some other threads about where things go in one of the other sections.

Layer styles go in a hidden folder in your documents and setting folder.

For me it is here.

"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Photo Creations\special effects"

Hope this helps.

A think the "application data" is the hidden folder.

You are going to have to put them in the folder I mentioned above.

Layer styles are handled slightly differently in PE5. I just found out you can create a new folder in the above folder and have the wow there or just dorp them into the styles folder but that can nly be one more level deep.

To find the
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Photo Creations\special effects"

you will have to turn on view hidden files in the folder option bar in windows.

Have a look and see if you can see it.

You can just copy the location from the line above (remove quotes) and then right click yur desktop and pick new>shortcut then in the popup paste the location in and you should be able to get at it.

That's because it's a hidden folder. Go to the control panel and choose Folder Options. Click on the View tab and under Hidden Files and Folders choose Show Hidden Files and Folders. Restart your computer. You should now be able to find the folder at:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\5.0\Photo Creations\special effects

AWESOME

They are in there now!

Now, do i have to create a separate folder for each style to keep it to all from being in one lump?

I just tried with Jodis styles.

I had all the bevels in one folder the frames in another etc. Ithen put them all into a Jodis Styles folder, and put that into the layer styes ..It didnt see all the subfolders.
I dragged Jodis styles folder out and just left it in the "special effects " folder.. now I have a new pulldown option called Jodis styles under special effects with all the subfolders in the right hand pulldown.

Stephanie

Glad you got it

Have a look around.. this place is amazing. With PE5 just getting off the ground I'm sure there are going to be a lot of hidden surprises (good and bad) for us to find
