Windows\system32\autoexec.nt

Ok, appears that there are a few bugs. Once I installed Elements 3.0 I get this message on Windows bootup.....

Windows\system32\autoexec.nt this file is not sutable for running MS-Dos and Microsoft Windows application.

any idea how I make that go away?

When I click on the icon for Elements 3, I get a application launch error that the program failed to launch correctly...when I click the message away, it apears that Elements loads correctly and works........

any ideas on this also?

I came to the forum to post the exact same problem.

I thought re-installing/repairing the installation might help, but I can't even do that - the re-install terminates when that error message pops up at the beginning of the install.

How do you get technical assistance from Adobe? I see no where on their web site to post problems - do you have to call them??

You have to call them for support, you can't ask questions by e-mail. It's not a toll free number, though : 206-675-6358

For installation related issues, it's a free call.

I called them, and they walked me through it. I had a service running that conflicted with PE3. (oddly an Adobe Service) I disabled it and problem solved!

I also called Adobe Tech Services and was able to resolve the problem by doing the following:

1. Click on CONTROL PANEL
If the Category View is displayed,
switch to the Classic View
2. Select ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS
3. Select SERVICES
4. For each of the following services,
click on the service name and change the
Startup Type to: MANUAL
- Adobe Active File Monitor Properties
- Adobe LM Service Properties
- Photoshop Elements Device Connect
Propterties

The Status for each of these services should now be blank (instead of STARTED) and the Startup Type should be MANUAL.

After making these changes, I no longer receive the Windows\system32\autoexec.nt error message on each computer boot-up.
