Add-O-Matic

Hi Everyone,

After staying away from actions because I just couldn't get them loaded, I decided to buy Graffi's Add-O-Matic. It just sounded like it was fool proof. Well, I don't get it. I downloaded it along with some actions from Coffeeteaphotography.blogspot.com and followed the instructions to the best of my ability. Everything is on my desktop. But when I open PSE7, there is nothing there. "Show all " is on. Any ideas?

All the best,

charlotte

Hi Charlotte,

The Add-O-Matic doesn't show up inside PSE. You download the zip file, extract the program, and save it to a convenient place in your pc (e.g. My Documents).

See the Info Sheet and FAQ for AOM.

Add-O-Matic is a program you run after you've downloaded the actions you want to install. Double-click on it, and it should be pretty self-explanatory on how to install files.

This is so frustrating. I have done all that you suggested, but when I open PSE7 nothing is loading ...I have checked several times and even closed down and rebooted. Still when I check through the whole pallette there are no new anything.

Charlotte - are you looking in the Guided Edit panel - where the action player is?

By George, Vee Jay, You are right on the money. That is where those little devils were hiding all along. How about that! Thanks so much for solving one of my problems.

All the best,

charlotte

These actions do not appear to have an XML file...

So they will only show up in the Show All section of the effects palette.
They are usually in alphabetical order.
You will most likely have to rebuild the mediadatabase to get them to show up. (see the instructions in the Action Resources section noted below)
If you would like for them to be in their own group, look on the front page of PSE Techniques and there is a section on more action resources and how to 'write' the code to group actions in PSE.
